On the evening of 9 July 2026, police officers from the Prevention Unit and the Veles Police Station of the Veles Police Department carried out a "Community Patrol" as part of preventive activities aimed at improving youth safety and maintaining public order.
The activity was conducted in cooperation with representatives of the Veles Municipal Council, the Local Prevention Council, the Municipal Council for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency, and the Veles Centre for Social Work. Together, they visited locations frequently attended by minors, including parks, playgrounds, and other public gathering places.
During the visits, minors were advised on the importance of responsible behaviour and respect for public order, with particular emphasis on preventing peer violence, vandalism, and the harmful consequences of alcohol and psychoactive substance use. These activities are intended to enhance youth safety by strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and collaboration with the local community.
Today (10 July 2026), police officers from the Road Traffic Police Unit of the Veles Police Department and the Kavadarci Road Traffic Police Unit conducted preventive road safety campaigns in Veles and Kavadarci under the slogan "Wear Your Seat Belt." Citizens were reminded that wearing a seat belt is a legal obligation for both drivers and passengers and is essential for improving personal safety.
Police officers from the Veles Police Department, the Čaška Police Office, the Gradsko Police Station, and the Delčevo Police Station also conducted preventive activities focused on fire prevention. Citizens were urged not to discard cigarette butts or other flammable materials along roadsides and were reminded of the importance of acting responsibly to reduce the risk of forest and open-area fires, particularly during the summer months when high temperatures increase the danger of wildfires. Educational printed materials were distributed as part of the campaign.
In Skopje, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department carried out the preventive campaign "Do Not Leave Valuables in Your Vehicle." Through direct communication with citizens, they advised drivers not to leave valuable items in parked vehicles in order to reduce the risk of vehicle break-ins and theft. Citizens also received guidance on crime prevention through close cooperation with the police and were provided with educational leaflets encouraging them to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, in Skopje, Štip, Delčevo, Probishtip, and Berovo, preventive activities were held under the slogan "Wear a Helmet, Ride Safely." The campaign aimed to improve road safety awareness by reminding road users of their responsibilities and the importance of careful and responsible participation in traffic. Moped and motorcycle riders were reminded that wearing a protective helmet is mandatory for both riders and passengers. Educational materials prepared in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security – Skopje were distributed during the activities.
