Ministry of Internal Affairs

 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs performs tasks related to:

  • the implementation of the system of state and public security;

  • the registration of residence and temporary stay;

  • citizenship and travel documents for crossing the state border;

  • the movement and stay within the border area;

  • the control of crossing the state border, as well as specific tasks related to identifying and resolving border incidents and other violations of the border;

  • the stay and movement of foreigners;

  • the production, trade, storage, and protection from flammable liquids, gases, explosives, and other hazardous materials, as well as the transportation of these materials;

  • providing assistance during natural disasters and epidemics;

  • the procurement, possession, carrying, and control of the marking of weapons and ammunition;

  • supervision within its jurisdiction;

  • and performs other tasks determined by law.

 

Within its jurisdiction, the Ministry provides professional assistance to citizens, legal entities, and state bodies in exercising their prescribed rights and obligations, in protecting the lives and personal security of citizens and property.

 

Employees of the Ministry are obliged, in the performance of their duties and tasks, to protect and safeguard the lives and property of citizens, to respect human and civil rights and freedoms, and to apply only those measures and means of coercion that are prescribed by this law or other regulations.

 

The organizational structure of the Ministry consists of:

  • organizational units for the needs of the Ministry, and

  • bodies within the Ministry.

 

The organizational units for the needs of the Ministry are responsible for carrying out professional tasks related to internal affairs, for the needs of the entire Ministry.
