International Agreements on Driver’s Licenses

Driver’s License Agreements

Reciprocal Recognition and Exchange of Driver’s Licenses
Based on signed bilateral agreements with:

Republic of Albania
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Federal Republic of Germany
Italian Republic (currently, it is not possible to exchange driver’s licenses between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Italian Republic; however, licenses issued by the former Republic of Macedonia are still being exchanged – the issue is being addressed)
Republic of Kosovo
Republic of Serbia
Montenegro
Kingdom of Spain

According to the signed agreements, holders of Macedonian driver’s licenses residing in the above-listed countries do not need an international driver’s license.
Macedonian license holders who have regulated permanent residence in these countries may apply to have their license exchanged.

Based on national legislation and the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (1968):

Czech Republic – Recognizes Macedonian national licenses and exchanges them for Czech licenses. No international license required for residents.
Republic of Bulgaria – Recognizes Macedonian licenses and exchanges them for Bulgarian ones for those with permanent residence. An international license is required for all other types of residence.
Republic of Croatia – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses. Holders can drive without an international license for up to 1 year from entry.
Republic of Slovenia – As a signatory to the 1968 Vienna Convention, recognizes valid Macedonian licenses issued according to the Convention. No additional agreement is necessary.
Romania – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses. No international license is needed for permanent residents.
Hungary – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses. No international license is needed for permanent residents.
Kingdom of Belgium – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses. No international license is needed for permanent residents.
Republic of Austria (Category B only) – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses. No international license is needed for permanent residents.
Republic of Poland – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses based on national law and the 1968 Vienna Convention.
Kingdom of Denmark (Category B only) – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses. No international license is needed for permanent residents.
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (Category B only) – Recognizes and exchanges Macedonian licenses based on national law. No international license is needed for permanent residents.

Greece – Does not exchange foreign licenses. Holders of Macedonian licenses must have an international driving permit.

Information regarding the locations where speed measurement instruments (radars) are used

Based on legal authorizations, police officers responsible for traffic control and regulation on roads use radar devices to measure vehicle speed during the performance of their regular duties.
Radars are placed at specific locations that are most suitable for speed control and at sites that have previously been identified as critical.

Attached is a list of locations most frequently used by police stations and police departments for road traffic safety to measure the speed of motor vehicles:

The Police Station for BPS Skopje uses the radar at the following locations:

Blvd. Kocho Racin, Blvd. Goce Delcev, Blvd. Nikola Karev (Yugoslavia), Blvd. Serbia, Prvomajska St., Blvd. 3rd Macedonian Brigade, Blvd. Jane Sandanski, Blvd. Partizanski Odredi, Blvd. October Revolution, Ivo Lola Ribar St., Blvd. Ilinden, Adolf Ciborovski St.

The Police Department for BPS Gazi Baba uses the radar at the following locations:

Blvd. Alexander Macedonian near the Diamond interchange at the exit of Skopje and opposite the entrance to Alkaloid at the entrance to Skopje.
On the regional road Skopje – Veles near the villages Trubarevo, Idrizovo, Drma settlement, Petrovec, and Rzhanichino.
On the regional road Skopje – Kumanovo on R. Kovacevic St., near the Arachinovo interchange and in front of the village Arachinovo.

The Police Department for BPS Drachevo uses the radar at the following locations:

Near the villages Batinci and Varvara, near the villages Morani and Studenichani, on Prvomajska St. near “Bujoto” and “Mebel Vi.”

The Police Station for BPS Ohrid uses the radar at the following locations:

On the main road M-4 Ohrid towards Kichevo near the villages Podmolje, Orovinik, Trebenishta, Mesheishta, Botun, and Pesochan.
On the main road M-5 Ohrid – Resen near the villages Leskoec (center and “Tamaro”), Kosel (EMO and Forestry House) and Openica.
Regional road R-501 Ohrid – St. Naum near the settlements Racha (center and Mitko warehouse), St. Stefan settlement (Hotel Ino Spektar and Granit).
In the city on Tourist Blvd. (Raspake, Hotel Doncho, OU Grigor Prlichev, and Hotel Niko), Railway Blvd., 15th Corps St. (Navis and Galeb), 7th November St. (Otex).

The Police Department for BPS Kichevo uses the radar at the following locations:

On the main road M-4, section Kichevo – Gostivar, near the villages Kolari, Zajas, Dlapkin Dol, and Trapchin Dol.
On the main road M-4, section Kichevo – Ohrid near the villages Drugovo and Popolzani.
On the main road M-4, section that passes through the city at the entrance of Skopje near the gas stations Makpetrol, Time Petrol, Gorica settlement exit toward Ohrid.
On the regional road R-513 Kichevo – Macedonian Brod near the villages Karbunica, Celopeci, and Lisichani.
On the regional road R-421 Kichevo – Oslomej near the villages Mamudovci and Crvevci.

The Police Department for BPS Debar uses the radar at the following locations:

Veljko Vlahovic St. near the drying facility, entrance/exit to Struga, and 22 December St. toward GP Blato.

The Police Station for BPS Shtip uses the radar at the following locations:

On the main road M-5 Veles – Shtip, near the village Krivi Dol and near the settlement Tri Cheshmi.
On the main road M-5 Shtip – Kochani in the villages Chardaklija, Dolni Balvan, and Krupishte.
On the main road M-6 Shtip – Radovish at the 9th kilometer, village Lakavica, and 20th kilometer.
On regional road R-601 in the villages Star Karaorman, Tarinci, and Karbinci.
In the city on Goce Delchev St., Railway St., Ribnik, and Partizanska.

The Police Department for BPS Berovo uses the radar at the following locations:

On regional road R-523 Delchevo – Berovo, in Pehchevo on Boris Kidrich St., villages Chiflik, Smojmirovo, Trskata area, and entrance to Berovo.
On regional road Berovo – Strumica near the Rusinska intersection.
On regional road R-527 Berovo – Vinica, villages Machevo and Budinarska intersection.
In the city of Berovo on Mosha Pijade St., Marshal Tito St., and Boris Kidrich St.

The Police Department for BPS Sveti Nikole uses the radar at the following locations:

On main road M-5 Veles – Shtip near the villages Lozovo, Saramzalino, Ovche Pole, and Kadrifakovo interchange.
On regional road R-201 near Mezdra, Kantonche areas, 46 km from Sveti Nikole and Erdjeliska intersection.
On regional road R-105 near Moda, Orangery, Opatna, road to Amzabegovo.
In the city on Veljko Vlahovic St., Karposheva St., and Marshal Tito St.

The Police Department for BPS Probishtip uses the radar at the following locations:

On regional road R-206 near villages Pishica, Gujnovci, Lezovski canton, Buchishte village, Kiselica and Plochi areas, city cemetery, and Miro Baraga St.
On regional road R-211 near village Ratavici, Ribar area, and Marshal Tito St. in Zletovo village.

The Police Department for BPS Kochani uses the radar at the following locations:

On main road M-5 Kompresara area and under the overpass for village Grdovci near Filipov gas station.
In the city on Teodosija Paunov St. (BP Makpetrol and Drivers Association), Dimitar Vlahov St. (nursery Grozd, near the pool and Hotel National), and Roza Petrova St. (Osogovska discount).

The Police Department for BPS Vinica uses the radar at the following locations:

On main road M-5 near Garata area, entrance to Istibanja village.
On regional road R-527 near Lipechko Pole area.
In the city on Ilindenska St. and Marshal Tito Blvd.

The Police Department for BPS Delchevo uses the radar at the following locations:

On main road M-5 near Ochipala village.
On regional road R-523 near GP Granit.

The Police Station for BPS Tetovo uses the radar at the following locations:

On regional road R-405 Tetovo – Jazhince, villages Neproshteno, Dzhepishte, Leshok, Tearce, and Dobroshe.
On regional road R-404 Tetovo – Volkoviya near villages Chelopek and Brvenica.
On regional road R-402 Grupchin – Tetovo near car scrap yards.
In the city on Marshal Tito Blvd. (Monopol), Ilindenska Blvd. (Shtulov University), and V.S. Bato Blvd. (Fire department and Fontana restaurant).

The Police Department for BPS Gostivar uses the radar at the following locations:

Villages Gradec, Chegrane, Srbinovo, Rechane.
In the city on Brothers Gjinovski Blvd., Ilindenska St., JNA St., Zhivko Brajkovski St., Sretko Krsteski St., Kej Bratstvo Edinstvo St., and Sedek Kostoski St.

The Police Station for BPS Veles uses the radar at the following locations:

In the city on Vardarska St., Mosha Pijade, Blagoj Gjorev, Dimitar Vlahov, Dimko Najdov, and Risto Popov (Prevalec).
On regional road R-526 Veles – Shtip near Mamuchevo village.
On regional road R-103 Veles – Gradsko, in Gradsko, Venula and HIV areas.

The Police Department for BPS Negotino uses the radar at the following locations:

In the city on Marshal Tito Blvd. (near the bus station, PP Kavasco, PP Vet Shop, and City Museum), Partizanska St., and Femo Kulakov St.
On regional road R-103 Negotino – Gradsko near Crveni Bregovi and toward Demir Kapija under the overpass.
On regional road R-107 near EE Ilo Vilarov and in Pepelishte village.

The Police Department for BPS Kavadarci uses the radar at the following locations:

On regional road R-106 Gradsko – Prilep at the intersections Farishka bus stop, Kamen Dol, and Rosoman.
On regional road R-107 Kavadarci – Negotino in Vozarci village, Feni smelter, Shishka St., and Marena village.
On regional road R-108 Kavadarci – Rosoman near Severova padina and the intersection for Manastirec village.

The Police Station for BPS Kumanovo uses the radar at the following locations:

In the city on October Revolution Blvd., Third MUB Blvd., 11 October St., 11 November St., Done Bozhinov St., Nikola Tesla St.
On main road M-2 Kumanovo – Kriva Palanka at the 7th kilometer, Sveta Petka area, and Vojnik village.
On regional road to Skopje near Ljubodrag and Umin Dol villages.
On regional road R-123 near Orizari village.
On regional road R-121 near Arachinovo village.

The Police Station for BPS Stip uses the radar at the following locations:

In the city on Goce Delchev Blvd., Railway Blvd., and Partizanska St.

The Police Department for BPS Kriva Palanka uses the radar at the following locations:

On main road M-2 Kriva Palanka – Kumanovo near Kodra village.
On regional road R-126 near Konjarnik village.
On regional road R-127 near Lisice village.

The Police Department for BPS Krusevo uses the radar at the following locations:

On main road M-5 Krusevo – Prilep near Orlovo village.
On regional road R-522 near Krusevo village.

The Police Station for BPS Bitola uses the radar at the following locations:

In the city on Marshal Tito Blvd., St. Cyril and Methodius Blvd., Nikola Karev St., and Kocho Racin Blvd.
On regional road R-501 Bitola – Ohrid near the villages Leskoec, Kosel, and Openica.
On main road M-4 Bitola – Prilep near the villages Magarevo and Konjari.
On regional road R-502 Bitola – Demir Hisar near the villages Gradeshka, Dobromiri, and Libichani.

On highway E-75 (from border crossing Tabanovce to Shtipska interchange) near Agino Selo, BPS Katlanovo, Vetersko parking lot, Rajko Zhinzifov parking lot.
On highway E-75 (from Shtipska interchange to border crossing Tabanovce) at the bridge over the Pcinja river near Katlanovo village and at the "Mavrovo" base near Romanovci village.
On highway E-65 (M-4) near the overpass at the Bunarjik Industrial Zone and Orman interchange.
On highway E-65 (M-3) at the Kadino interchange.

BPS Police Station Demir Kapija:

On highway E-75 (towards border crossing Bogorodica) near Kalaslare, Vinichani, Ostreovo, tunnels at D. Kapija, Arsova Luka, Gradec, Udovo, and Mrzenci.

BPS Police Station Tetovo:

On highway E-65 (M-4) at Matka interchange, Laskartsi, Bojane, Grupchin interchange, petrol company, Sever interchange, Kamenjane interchange, Zherovjane interchange, Negotino interchange, Tumcheviste interchange, Vrapchishte interchange up to Staklara interchange.
