Department for Classified Information Security and NATO Cooperation
- Implementation of policies regarding the security of classified information within the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MoIA), application of measures for physical, administrative, and personnel security, coordination, planning and oversight, advising, and control. Participation in activities for concluding security agreements related to the receipt, classification, and exchange of information. Of particular importance is the operation of the Registry for Foreign Classified Information, within the organizational unit responsible for receiving, recording, and disseminating foreign classified information assigned to the Ministry for use, obtained through the exchange of classified information between the Republic of North Macedonia and a foreign state or international organization, as well as communication, cooperation, and exchange of foreign classified information.
The Registry for Foreign Classified Information also performs tasks under the jurisdiction of the Directorate for Classified Information Security, through which the exchange of classified information with foreign countries and international organizations is conducted.
Protection and safeguarding of information. - Implementation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ security cooperation plans in activities related to NATO integration processes, achieving interoperability with alliance member states through the reform continuation program, preparation of key personnel for peacekeeping operations led by international organizations. Participation in national defense and security planning processes, host nation support for NATO forces, joint foreign and security policy, organization of exercises, cooperation, and implementation of joint activities with NATO/KFOR services and personnel.
