According to Article 8 of the Law on Registration of Residence and Temporary Residence of Citizens (Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia 36/92),
“A citizen who intends to stay abroad for more than three months is obliged, immediately before departure, to report their leaving abroad, or within three days to report their return to the residence in the Republic of North Macedonia.” In the case referred to in paragraph 1 of this article, the citizen is also obliged to register minor children traveling with them.
Article 9 provides that upon registration and deregistration of residence or temporary residence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issues a confirmation to the person (this is the second part of the registration which, signed and certified, is issued to the citizen). The form is prescribed by the Rulebook on forms for registration and deregistration of residence and temporary residence, registration of change of apartment address of citizens, for records, and for the form of the guest book.
Each shift supervisor is responsible for issuing a certain number of cards by serial number, and upon citizens’ request, they are given for completion.
Form number 5 is intended for citizens who stay abroad for more than three months.
