At the initiative of the Sector for General Police Affairs – Department for Uniformed Police, and in coordination with the Prevention Units, Police Departments and Criminal Police Departments within the Sectors for Internal Affairs, activities began in February and during March developed into a campaign dedicated to women, focusing on the prevention of and protection from gender-based and domestic violence, under the motto “There Is Help for a Life Without Violence.”
The aim of the campaign is to implement preventive activities aimed at informing citizens about the mechanisms for reporting violence, encouraging timely response and early intervention, protecting vulnerable categories of citizens, as well as improving inter-institutional cooperation and raising public awareness about the prevention of and protection from gender-based and domestic violence.
Within the framework of the campaign, several preventive activities are being carried out, including the distribution of informative and educational printed materials, placement of posters in public and high-traffic locations, organization of public debates and round tables with representatives of institutions and the local community, as well as conducting informative discussions with citizens in order to inform them about ways to recognize and report violence, as well as about the available protection mechanisms.
Through the implementation of these activities, the Ministry of Interior continues its proactive approach in the prevention and suppression of gender-based and domestic violence, with a special emphasis on the protection of victims, strengthening citizens’ trust in institutions, and creating a safer and more secure community for all citizens.
