Today (March 17, 2026), police officers from the Regional Police Departments of Veles, Tetovo, and Stip conducted preventive activities in Veles, Chashka, Sveti Nikole, and Tetovo on the themes "There is help for a life without violence" and "Don't be a silent witness," aimed at preventing the occurrence of any form of gender-based violence. The activities emphasized the procedures and protocols to follow when cases of gender-based violence arise, as well as the availability of services for assistance, protection, and temporary shelter. In direct communication, guidance was provided on what citizens can do if they find themselves in a situation where they witness a certain type of violence. The police officers highlighted the importance of promptly reporting all forms of violence, and educational materials were distributed.
Yesterday, in Ohrid, the Prevention Department of the Regional Police Department of Ohrid organized a roundtable on the topic "Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence," attended by representatives from the Regional Police Department of Ohrid, the Basic Court and Public Prosecutor's Office of Ohrid, the Center for Social Work, local government, school centers, and non-governmental organizations. The goal is to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation in combating the occurrence of domestic and gender-based violence.
In the territory of the Regional Police Department of Stip, preventive activities in the field of traffic were carried out in Sveti Nikole, Stip, and Berovo, aimed at raising awareness of the need to respect traffic rules and regulations.
