Today (19 June 2026), police officers from the Traffic Safety Unit of the Negotino Police Department carried out a traffic safety awareness campaign at several locations in Negotino under the slogan “Don’t Forget – We Are All Pedestrians, Be Responsible in Traffic.”
The main focus of the campaign was on pedestrians as active participants in traffic and their obligation to comply with traffic rules and regulations. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of crossing streets only at designated pedestrian crossings, avoiding the use of headphones and mobile phones while crossing, and exercising extra caution when walking in poorly lit areas during evening hours.
Meanwhile, police officers from the Traffic Safety Unit of the Kavadarci Police Department conducted a preventive campaign titled “Consequences of Driving a Technically Unsafe Vehicle.” During discussions with citizens, officers stressed the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and ensuring technical roadworthiness. As part of the campaign, educational materials prepared in cooperation with the National Road Traffic Safety Council and the Faculty of Security in Skopje were distributed.
On 19 June 2026, on Boris Trajkovski Boulevard in Skopje, the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department, in cooperation with the National Road Traffic Safety Council, carried out an educational and preventive campaign entitled “Safe Riding on Scooters and Bicycles.” Through direct communication with cyclists and electric scooter users, participants were reminded of the importance of fully complying with traffic laws and regulations. Educational leaflets prepared by the National Road Traffic Safety Council were also distributed.
Additionally, the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department, in cooperation with the public enterprise Jasen, conducted a preventive activity aimed at protecting forests from wildfires at a location known as “Kula” on the Skopje–Makedonski Brod road. During the campaign, educational materials were distributed to passersby, and citizens were reminded to immediately report any open-air fire by calling 112.
