Today (20 June 2026), the Prevention Unit of the Shtip Police Department, in cooperation with a police officer from the General Competence Police Station in Shtip, carried out a preventive and educational campaign on the topic: “Prevention and Protection Against Open-Space Fires and the Careful and Responsible Use of Agricultural Machinery in Traffic” within the Municipality of Shtip.
As part of the activity, citizens and farmers were provided with leaflets and brochures containing educational information on forest fire prevention and protection. Through direct conversations, police officers informed them about measures for protecting forests and reducing the risk of wildfires and open-space fires, as well as the importance of conducting agricultural work carefully and using agricultural machinery responsibly.
Particular emphasis was placed on the dangers of causing fires through the burning of field boundaries, crop residue (stubble), dry grass, and waste on agricultural land.
During the activity, citizens were also informed about their obligation to comply with the relevant legal provisions and regulations in this area, with the aim of raising public awareness and strengthening fire prevention efforts.
