Preventive activities to prevent violence and fires and to enhance safety in traffic

 

Today (September 18, 2026) in Kavadarci, police officers from the Kavadarci Police Station conducted a preventive activity titled "Don't Be a Silent Witness." In direct communication, citizens were informed about the occurrences of domestic violence and the protective measures available in cases of domestic violence, as well as how to recognize psychological abuse and guidance on what they can do if they find themselves in a situation to witness violence. Police officers from the Negotino Police Station carried out a preventive activity called "Police Closer to Citizens," during which advice was shared with the local population to increase their personal and property security, emphasizing the necessity of mutual cooperation and trust between the local community and police officers, fostering better communication. Meanwhile, in Demir Kapija, a preventive activity was held to ensure the safe arrival and departure of students to and from schools.

Police officers from the Resen Police Station and the Bitola Police Department, in honor of "European Mobility Week," which is celebrated from September 16 to 22, conducted preventive activities with citizens in Resen and Bitola, aimed at increasing the level of traffic culture and encouraging more frequent use of alternative means of transportation.

Police officers from the Prevention Department at the Regional Police Directorate in Tetovo and the Police Station in Kocani conducted educational lectures for first-grade children at the "Kočo Racin" Primary School in the village of Brvenica and the "Krste Petkov Misirkov" Primary School in Kocani, where specially trained officers explained how to navigate traffic safely, ensuring they could travel from school to home and back without incident. Officers from the Prevention Department at the Regional Police Directorate in Skopje carried out preventive activities targeting motorcycle, electric scooter, and bicycle riders in the areas of Kisela Voda and Aerodrom, reminding them of the rules and responsibilities for careful and responsible participation in traffic, particularly the obligation to wear a protective helmet. Additionally, the Prevention Department at the Regional Police Directorate in Skopje implemented preventive measures in the municipality of Sopishte aimed at protecting forests from illegal logging and fires. Citizens were informed that illegal logging and causing fires are criminal offenses that are legally sanctioned, and they were provided with printed educational materials developed in collaboration with the Public Enterprise "National Forests."

Police officers from the Police Station in Delcevo held an educational workshop at the "St. Clement of Ohrid" Primary School in Delcevo on the topic of "peer violence - bullying and cyberbullying." The children were made aware of the consequences that can arise from such deviant behavior and the ways to prevent it.
