Preventive activities for safe traffic and the prevention of illegal logging, fires, property crimes, and addictions

 

Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Tetovo Police Department, the Stip Police Station, and the Vinica Police Station today (September 17, 2026) conducted educational lectures for first-grade children at the "Lirija" Primary School in Tetovo, "Toso Arsov" Primary School in Stip, and "Goce Delchev" Primary School in Vinica, where specially trained police officers explained how to navigate traffic safely, ensuring they could get from school to home and back. Police officers from the Veles Police Station participated in a workshop for "European Mobility Week," celebrated from September 16 to 22, during which high school students in their fourth year in Veles received advice on safe participation in traffic, increasing their level of traffic culture, and more frequent use of alternative modes of transportation. Also in Veles, as well as in the area of Chashka, citizens were reminded of the importance of regularly maintaining the technical safety of vehicles, which is a crucial prerequisite for safe participation in traffic, as well as the obligation to wear seat belts, which applies to both drivers and passengers in vehicles. In Sveti Nikole and Kochani, preventive activities were focused on the safety of pedestrians.

Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department in the area of Gjorce Petrov carried out preventive activities aimed at motorcycle, electric scooter, and bicycle riders, reminding them of the rules and obligations for careful and responsible participation in traffic, especially the requirement to wear a helmet.

In Veles, Kavadarci, and Demir Kapija, preventive activities were carried out to protect against thefts and various types of property crimes, while in Prilep, Suvidol, Samokov, and Belica, as well as in Macedonian Brod, police officers from the Prilep Police Station and the Macedonian Brod Police Station conducted preventive activities aimed at protecting forests from illegal logging and fires. Citizens were informed that illegal logging and causing fires are criminal offenses that are duly sanctioned by law, and they were also provided with printed educational materials created in collaboration with the Public Enterprise "National Forests."

Yesterday (September 16, 2026), a preventive campaign titled "Say No to Drugs, Alcohol, and Cigarettes, Say Yes to Life" was held in the primary schools of the Struga villages of Oktisi and Podgorci. Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Ohrid Police Department, the Struga Police Station, and the Veles Police Station informed students about the harmful health consequences for young people resulting from these deviant behaviors.
