Preventive activities to prevent fires, thefts, and fraud, and to improve traffic safety

 


Today (September 16, 2026) in Veles, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Veles Police Department conducted preventive activities as part of the "Safe City" campaign, aimed at informing traffic participants about how the system operates and its role in timely detection and sanctioning of traffic violations. Additionally, drivers in Tetovo, Veles, Kavadarci, and Negotino were reminded of their obligation to adjust their speed according to traffic signals and road conditions, while pedestrians were advised to cross the street at marked crosswalks and not to use mobile phones or headphones while crossing. Police officers from the Bitola Police Department held an educational lecture titled "Let's Protect Children in Traffic" at the "Dame Grujev" primary school in Bitola.
In Stip, Kochani, and Delcevo, police officers from the Stip Police Department carried out preventive activities under the slogans "Don't Use Your Mobile Phone While Driving" and "Drive Safely with a Technically Sound Vehicle," and informed citizens about the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol. 
The Prevention Department of the Kumanovo Police Department conducted a preventive activity for safe public transportation of passengers and students, directed at legal entities that provide bus public transport, emphasizing the necessity for transportation to be carried out with technically sound vehicles.

Police officers from the Veles Police Department, Negotino Police Station, Probistip Police Station, and Chashka Police Station also conducted preventive activities to protect against fraud and various forms of theft, advising citizens to be cautious in communication with unknown individuals, not to share their personal information, and to be vigilant with their personal belongings. As part of the activities, printed educational materials were distributed.

From the police officers of the Police Station G.N. Popova Shapka in the village of Veshala and the village of Shipkovica, preventive activities were carried out for fire protection, informing citizens about the need for cooperation with institutions and timely reporting of any instances of irresponsible behavior, littering, and arson, especially in open spaces and near forested areas, to ensure a prompt and swift response from all institutions. 

Police officers from the Police Station Berovo, in collaboration with the parents of minors, conducted a preventive activity in Berovo aimed at minors, specifically to prevent occurrences of juvenile delinquency, alcohol abuse, and the use of psychoactive substances, as well as disturbances of public order and peace.
