Today (August 19, 2026), in the area of the Police Department in Veles, preventive activities were carried out to combat gender-based violence and promote safe traffic. In Veles, the initiative titled "There is Help for a Life Without Violence" and "Don't Be a Silent Witness" was implemented. The focus of the initiative was on the procedures and actions to take when cases of gender-based violence arise, as well as the availability of services for assistance, protection, and temporary shelter. Meanwhile, in the municipality of Čaška, police officers conducted a traffic safety initiative themed "Drive Responsibly," aimed at raising awareness among all road users about the obligation and necessity of adhering to traffic rules and regulations. Drivers were reminded of their duty to operate their vehicles carefully, adjust their speed, wear seatbelts, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, refrain from using mobile phones, and a host of other useful tips to enhance public awareness for increasing traffic safety and improving traffic culture.
A preventive traffic safety initiative was also carried out in Kumanovo. This initiative targeted pedestrians who irresponsibly behave as road users, failing to use marked crosswalks and darting across the roadway. In this regard, an appeal was made to everyone to use only marked crosswalks, thereby avoiding traffic accidents and serious bodily injuries resulting from non-compliance with legal provisions.
Activities for safe traffic also took place in Berovo, Kočani, Štip, Sveti Nikole, and Delčevo on various topics, during which participants in traffic were provided with educational materials containing useful advice. In Macedonian Kamenica, in collaboration with the fire department and the Forestry Police, a preventive activity was conducted through direct conversations with citizens to raise awareness about fire prevention and protection against wildfires and forest fires. During the activity, the population was informed about the dangers of starting fires in open spaces, forest fires, and fires in buildings. Today, an event on the topic "Protect Your Home and Safeguard Against Pickpocketing" was held in Probištip. In direct conversations, older individuals were given leaflets with useful tips, and they were advised to be cautious about recognizing scams.
