On 08.06.2026, police officers from the Prevention Unit of SVR Veles carried out the preventive campaign “Let’s Protect Our Forests from Wildfires and Illegal Logging” in the settlement of Chashka and the village of Izvor, Municipality of Chashka.
Similar preventive activities were also conducted by the Prevention Unit of SVR Kumanovo in the Kozjak region and villages within the Municipality of Staro Nagorichane, as well as by police officers from the Delchevo Police Department in several villages in the Municipality of Delchevo and on Mount Golak.
Citizens were reminded of the importance of continuous cooperation with the competent institutions and the mandatory reporting of irresponsible behavior, such as dumping and burning waste, lighting fires in open areas and near forest belts, discarding cigarette butts, and similar actions, in order to enable a rapid and timely response.
During the summer period, higher temperatures increase the risk of accidental fires. Therefore, special emphasis was placed on the need to protect forests and reduce the risk of wildfires and open-area fires, as well as on the careful performance of agricultural activities, highlighting the dangers of burning field boundaries, stubble, dry grass, and waste on agricultural land.
At the same time, in Kavadarci, Skopje, and Shtip, police officers from the Kavadarci Police Department, the Shtip Traffic Police Station, and the Prevention Department of SVR Skopje conducted preventive activities aimed at improving the safety of motorcyclists and citizens using electric scooters and bicycles.
The campaign sought to raise the level of traffic culture and awareness by reminding participants to respect traffic laws and regulations and to act responsibly and cautiously while taking part in road traffic. Educational printed materials were distributed as part of the activities.
In addition, the Prevention Department of SVR Skopje carried out preventive activities in the municipalities of Aerodrom and Karposh focused on protection against property-related crimes.
