Preventive activities by the Skopje Police Department, the Štip Police Department, and the Veles Police Department for safe traffic and fire prevention

 


Today (June 10, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department conducted a preventive activity aimed at preventing fires in the territory of the Gazi Baba Police Station. The police officers, in conversation with citizens, emphasized the need for maximum diligence and care for the forest resources. Citizens were also informed that causing a fire is a criminal offense, which is appropriately sanctioned by law. Printed educational materials, created in collaboration with the Public Enterprise "National Forests," were distributed to the citizens. Additionally, in the territory of the Gazi Baba Police Station, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department carried out preventive activities aimed at motorcycle riders, electric scooter users, and cyclists. The goal of these activities was to enhance traffic culture by reminding participants of the rules and responsibilities for careful and responsible participation in traffic, highlighting the obligation to wear a protective helmet. 

Preventive activities for safe traffic were also conducted by police officers from the Probishtip Police Station in Probishtip, while police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Veles Police Department operated in the Veles area. Pedestrians were reminded to cross the street only at designated crosswalks, not to use headphones or mobile phones, and to be cautious, especially in the evening hours when moving in poorly lit areas. Drivers were advised not to drive under the influence of alcohol, to use seat belts, and to respect all traffic rules and regulations. As part of the activities, printed educational materials were distributed, created in collaboration with the National Road Traffic Safety Council and the Faculty of Security - Skopje.
