Preventive activities in the areas of the Police Department of Veles, of Skopje, Stip, of Tetovo focused on traffic safety, protection against property crimes, and safeguarding forests from logging and fires

On June 11, 2026, police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Police Department of Veles and officers from the Police Station in Chashka conducted preventive educational activities in the villages of Otovica, Sujaklari, Ivankovci, and Mamutchovo, within the municipality of Chashka and the village of Izvor, under the motto "Flames are Unstoppable" and "Let’s Protect Our Forests from Wildfires and Illegal Logging."

During the activities, citizens were emphasized the need for continuous cooperation with relevant institutions and the mandatory reporting of irresponsible behavior such as littering and burning waste, starting fires in open spaces and near forest belts, discarding cigarette butts, and similar actions for quick and timely responses. During the summer period, due to rising temperatures, the risk of fires caused by negligence also increases. Therefore, the necessity for protection and reduction of the risk of wildfires and open space fires was highlighted, along with careful execution of agricultural work, emphasizing the dangers of igniting boundaries, stubble with dry grass, and waste in fields.

Today, at multiple locations in Delchevo, a preventive activity was carried out under the mottos "Do Not Use Your Mobile Phone While Driving" and "Drive Responsibly - Wear a Helmet."  Drivers participating in traffic were reminded to pay attention to the technical condition of their vehicles and were urged to drive carefully and adhere to traffic rules and regulations. During the activity, drivers were also given leaflets containing educational content.

Additionally, today, the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department, in collaboration with the Red Cross, conducted preventive educational campaigns in the area of Gjorče Petrov on property crimes titled "Anyone Can Be a Victim," "Beware - Phone Scams," and "Park Consciously - Park Responsibly." The primary goal of the project was to enhance the safety culture among citizens, as well as to strengthen trust and cooperation between the police and the public. At the same time, drivers were reminded of the necessity to fully comply with traffic rules and regulations, with a special emphasis on conscientious and responsible parking of motor vehicles.

Preventive activities aimed at strengthening trust and cooperation between the police and citizens for safer traffic were also conducted in Tetovo. During direct meetings, citizens were informed about the role, tasks, and responsibilities of the police. They were also advised on how to protect themselves from property crimes (theft of wallets, bags, and other valuable items), as well as the procedure for reporting such incidents to the police. In Tetovo, the practical implementation of the preventive educational project "Step by Step" continued, which will involve preschool children from 14 kindergartens in Tetovo, where police officers from the Traffic Safety Police Stations in Tetovo and Gostivar conduct lectures and explain to the children how to navigate traffic, that is, to respect traffic rules and signs.
