Preventive activities for pedestrian safety and violence prevention

Preventive activities for pedestrian safety and violence prevention

Today (April 6, 2026), police officers from the Čaška Police Department conducted a preventive activity themed "Don't Be a Silent Witness" in the Čaška neighborhood. Through direct communication, citizens were informed about the occurrences of domestic violence, their rights, and protective measures available in cases of certain forms of domestic violence, as well as how to recognize psychological abuse and guidance on what they can do if they find themselves in a situation to witness a particular type of violence. Emphasis was also placed on the procedures and actions to take in cases of gender-based violence and the availability of services for assistance, protection, and temporary shelter. The goal of the activity is to take preventive action to prevent the occurrence of this type of violence and to encourage victims of any form of violence to report it to the police in a timely manner; printed educational materials were also distributed.

Police officers from the Tetovo, Štip, and Bitola Regional Police Departments conducted preventive activities in Tetovo, Resen, Bitola, Štip, Kočani, and Berovo, focusing on pedestrian safety as the most vulnerable category of road users during "World Pedestrian Week." As part of these activities, police officers distributed educational flyers to citizens, created by the National Council for Road Traffic Safety.
