Preventive activities for safe graduation celebrations and traffic

Today (April 23, 2026) in Veles, police officers from the Police Station for Public Safety in Veles conducted a preventive activity under the theme "Drive Mindfully, Drive Responsibly." As part of the activity, drivers were reminded of the importance of strictly adhering to traffic rules and regulations. The goal of these activities is to influence the enhancement of traffic culture and awareness among drivers, aimed at increasing safety and reducing the number of traffic accidents. Additionally, police officers from the Prevention Department at the Regional Police Directorate in Veles carried out a preventive activity on the theme "Park Responsibly." Drivers were emphasized that improper parking, aside from being punishable, endangers other road users, and therefore it is essential for vehicles to be parked in designated areas and to always respect the signs and markings on the roadway. As part of the preventive activities, printed educational materials were distributed, created in collaboration with the National Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security in Skopje. Preventive activities for safer traffic were also conducted in Kochani, Pehchevo, and Shtip.

The Prevention Department at the Regional Police Directorate in Skopje implemented preventive activities at the Secondary School for General Education "Cvetan Dimov" and the Secondary School for General Education "Braka Miladinovci" in Skopje as part of the campaign "To the Graduation Celebration Without a Car." Graduates were informed about the need for responsible behavior, as well as the measures and consequences for violating legal provisions in the field of traffic and public order, all aimed at ensuring that the celebrations proceed safely and peacefully. Educational workshops for greater safety in schools were held at the Primary School "Alexander the Great" and the Primary School "Ibe Palikuća."
