Today (22.06.2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Veles Police Department carried out traffic-safety preventive activities at several locations in Veles, with a special focus on pedestrians. As active participants in traffic, pedestrians are obliged to comply with traffic rules and regulations. During the activities, they were reminded to cross streets only at marked pedestrian crossings, avoid using headphones and mobile phones while crossing, and remain cautious, especially during evening hours and in poorly lit areas.
The Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department and the Prevention Unit of the Tetovo Police Department conducted preventive activities in Skopje and Tetovo under the slogan “Wear a Helmet”, aimed at motorcycle, bicycle, and electric scooter riders. Educational materials prepared by the National Council for Road Traffic Safety were also distributed.
Yesterday, police officers from the Kavadarci Police Department and the Prevention Unit of the Tetovo Police Department carried out preventive activities in Kavadarci and the Municipality of Brvenica on the topic “Let’s Protect Our Forests from Wildfires.” Through direct conversations, citizens were encouraged to act responsibly and carefully, not to throw cigarette butts or any other flammable materials along roadsides, and to behave responsibly when moving through forest areas. The goal is to reduce the risk of forest and open-area fires, especially during the summer period when temperatures are higher and the danger of fires increases.
Preventive fire-protection activities were also conducted today in Delchevo and Berovo by police officers from the Shtip Police Department. Printed educational materials were distributed as part of the campaign.
