Preventive activities for safe traffic and protection from fires, heatstroke, and property crimes

Today (30 June 2026), police officers from the Prevention Departments at the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs and the Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs carried out traffic prevention activities in Veles and Tetovo aimed at pedestrians. Citizens were emphasized the need to respect traffic rules and regulations in order to increase road safety. As active participants in traffic, pedestrians are obliged to respect traffic rules, including crossing the street at marked pedestrian crossings, not using headphones or mobile phones while crossing, and being especially careful during evening hours when moving in poorly lit areas.

Police officers from the Berovo Police Department also carried out preventive activities in Berovo aimed at drivers of motorcycles, electric scooters, and bicycles, reminding them of the rules and obligations for careful and responsible participation in traffic, especially the obligation to wear protective helmets.

Yesterday (29 June 2026), police officers from the Prevention Department at the Bitola Sector for Internal Affairs and the Traffic Safety Police Station at the Bitola Sector for Internal Affairs carried out a preventive activity in the Bitola area focused on raising awareness among drivers not to operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol, given that alcohol significantly reduces driving skills, impairs psychomotor abilities, and poses a serious threat to their safety and the safety of other road users.

Police officers from the Čaška Police Department and the Regional Border Affairs Center East carried out preventive activities in Čaška and Makedonska Kamenica aimed at protection against fires. Citizens were emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation with competent institutions and the mandatory reporting of irresponsible behavior such as lighting fires in open spaces and near forest areas, and throwing cigarette butts, in order to ensure a quick and timely response. Preventive activities for fire protection were also carried out in the territories of Gradsko and Bogomila.

Police officers from the Štip Sector for Internal Affairs held a working meeting with representatives of other institutions dedicated to addressing wildfires.

Police officers from the Prevention Unit at the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs carried out a preventive activity titled “Do not leave valuable items in your car” in the Centar Police Station area. Through direct communication with citizens, they advised them not to leave valuable items in parked vehicles in order to prevent thefts from motor vehicles. Citizens were also informed about prevention methods in close cooperation with the police, and educational printed materials were distributed, encouraging them to report any suspicious cases to the police station.

The Prevention Unit at the Kumanovo Sector for Internal Affairs, in cooperation with the General Hospital in Kumanovo, carried out a preventive activity aimed at protecting citizens from heatstroke, where medical staff provided appropriate recommendations and advice to citizens.
