Preventive Activities for Road Safety and Fire Prevention

Today (29.06.2026), police officers from the SIA Kumanovo, SIA Shtip, and the Chashka Police Department carried out preventive activities in the municipalities of Lipkovo, Berovo, Sveti Nikole, Probishtip, and Chashka aimed at protecting against and reducing the risk of forest fires and open-air fires, as well as promoting caution during agricultural activities.

Citizens were advised of the importance of continuous cooperation with the competent institutions and urged to promptly report irresponsible behavior such as dumping and burning waste, lighting fires in open areas or near forest belts, discarding cigarette butts, and similar actions, in order to enable a swift and timely response. They were also reminded that causing fires is a criminal offense punishable by law.

Meanwhile, police officers from the Traffic Police Units of the Kavadarci and Delchevo Police Departments conducted a road safety campaign in Kavadarci and Delchevo under the theme "Drive a Roadworthy Vehicle." During the campaign, they emphasized the obligation to regularly maintain vehicles in proper technical condition as a key prerequisite for safe participation in road traffic.

Police officers from the Traffic Police Unit of the Negotino Police Department also carried out a preventive campaign in Negotino under the theme "Wear a Seat Belt," highlighting the legal obligation for both drivers and passengers to wear seat belts and stressing the importance of consistently complying with all traffic rules and regulations to enhance personal safety.

In Skopje, police officers from the Prevention Department of the SIA Skopje conducted preventive activities targeting motorcycle, electric scooter, and bicycle riders. Participants were reminded of their responsibilities to act carefully and responsibly in traffic, with particular emphasis on the mandatory use of protective helmets.

In Vinica, preventive activities focused on informing citizens about the dangers and consequences of using a mobile phone while driving. Printed educational materials were distributed as part of the campaign.
