Preventive activities for road safety and protection against fires and domestic violence

Today (25 June 2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Veles Police Department carried out a preventive activity in the Veles area under the theme “There is help for a life without violence.” Through direct communication, citizens were informed about domestic violence, the rights and protection measures available to victims, ways to recognize different forms of domestic violence, and how to respond if they witness such incidents. Particular emphasis was placed on procedures and protocols in cases of violence, as well as on the availability of support, protection and temporary accommodation services. The importance of timely reporting of all forms of violence was highlighted. The activities aim to prevent domestic violence and encourage victims to report any form of violence to the police without delay. Printed educational materials were distributed during the event.

At the same time, police officers from the Road Traffic Safety Unit in Kavadarci conducted a road safety campaign in Kavadarci. Through direct communication with drivers, they emphasized the importance of complying with traffic rules and regulations, with special focus on the obligation to adjust driving speed to traffic conditions and road conditions.

Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department, the Prevention Unit of the Tetovo Police Department, and the Road Traffic Safety Police Station in Probishtip carried out preventive activities in Skopje, Tetovo and Probishtip aimed at motorcycle, electric scooter and bicycle riders. Participants were reminded of the rules and responsibilities for careful and responsible participation in traffic, particularly the obligation to wear a protective helmet. In Shtip, preventive activities focused on informing citizens about the consequences of using a mobile phone while driving. These activities once again highlighted the need to improve traffic culture through compliance with traffic regulations and responsible behaviour, thereby protecting personal safety, the safety of family members and other road users. Printed educational materials were also distributed.

In Berovo, police officers from the Berovo Police Station conducted preventive activities aimed at preventing fires and illegal logging. During conversations with citizens, officers stressed the importance of responsible behaviour and care for forest resources. Citizens were also informed that illegal logging and causing fires are criminal offences punishable under the law. Printed educational materials prepared in cooperation with the Public Enterprise “National Forests” were distributed.

In addition, police officers from the Skopje Police Department held a working meeting in the Municipality of Arachinovo with municipal representatives. The topics discussed included measures and activities for fire prevention, combating peer violence, maintaining public order and peace, and improving road traffic safety.
