Today (26.06.2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the SIA Veles carried out a traffic safety preventive activity in the Veles area as part of the **"Drive Responsibly"** campaign. The aim of the activity was to promote a higher level of traffic culture among drivers, with particular emphasis on proper parking. During the activity, educational leaflets prepared by the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety were distributed.
In addition, police officers from the Prevention Unit of the SIA Veles conducted preventive and educational activities in the Municipality of Čaška, while police officers from the Negotino Police Department carried out similar activities in Demir Kapija and the villages of Dolni Disan and Timjanik, focusing on the prevention of wildfires and illegal logging. During conversations with citizens, the police emphasized the importance of responsible behavior and the protection of forest resources. Citizens were also informed that illegal logging and causing forest fires constitute criminal offences punishable under the law. Educational leaflets prepared in cooperation with the Public Enterprise "National Forests" were also distributed.
Meanwhile, the Prevention Department of the SIA Skopje, in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety, carried out a preventive activity in Skopje targeting motorcycle, electric scooter, and bicycle riders. Participants were reminded of the rules and responsibilities for safe and responsible participation in road traffic, with particular emphasis on the mandatory use of protective helmets.
The Prevention Department of the SIA Skopje also conducted a preventive activity aimed at preventing domestic violence. Through direct communication with citizens, information was provided on the different forms of domestic violence, the rights of victims, and the available protection measures. Citizens were also informed about how to recognize signs of domestic violence and how to respond if they witness such incidents. Special emphasis was placed on the procedures for reporting domestic violence, as well as on the availability of assistance, protection, and temporary shelter services. The importance of promptly reporting all forms of violence was strongly emphasized.
