Today (27 June 2026), police officers from the Regional Center for Border Affairs South carried out a preventive activity aimed at raising public awareness about nature protection and fire prevention, especially during the summer tourist season and the harvesting period. The activity was conducted at the Star Dojran Border Crossing, the Medzitlija Border Crossing, as well as in the area of the Markova Noga Border Surveillance Police Station, where police officers directly communicated with citizens and tourists. They were informed about the need for responsible behavior in nature, with special emphasis on avoiding lighting fires outdoors, not throwing cigarette butts, and immediately reporting any observed fire to the emergency number 112. Educational leaflets were also distributed to citizens.
A fire prevention activity was also carried out yesterday by police officers from the Prevention Unit at SVR Kumanovo, who also held coordination meetings with local communities and other institutions in order to ensure more effective response to this issue.
The Prevention Unit at SVR Kumanovo also conducted an educational lecture at the “Angel Shajche” kindergarten in Kumanovo, with the aim of introducing children to basic traffic rules, adapted to their age. In addition, they carried out a preventive activity in Kumanovo aimed at drivers of motorcycles, electric scooters, and bicycles, reminding them of the rules and obligations for careful and responsible participation in traffic, especially the obligation to wear a protective helmet.
