Today (April 17, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Department of the SVR Veles conducted a preventive-educational activity aimed at protecting against property crimes at the city market in Veles. Citizens were informed on how to protect themselves from theft. The activity was particularly directed towards the elderly population, who are often more frequent targets of various types of property crimes, emphasizing the importance of securing their homes, being mindful of their personal belongings, and exercising caution when communicating with strangers. A series of traffic preventive activities were also carried out today. Police officers from the City Police conducted a preventive activity themed "Buckle Up," aimed at encouraging drivers and passengers in vehicles to use seat belts for greater safety. Police officers from the PS BPS Veles, PS BPS Kumanovo, and PO BPS Delcevo in Veles, Kumanovo, and Delcevo implemented activities under the theme "Wear a Helmet," targeting individuals riding bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, and electric scooters, while in the municipalities of Chashka and Kochani, preventive activities were conducted to inform drivers about the risks they take when driving under the influence of alcohol. Police officers from the OVK Negotino carried out preventive activities at several locations aimed at pedestrians, highlighting their responsibility for participating safely in traffic, while in the area of Kavadarci, a preventive activity was conducted under the theme "Park Conscientiously, Park Responsibly," providing advice and guidance to drivers on the critical importance of proper vehicle parking for overall traffic safety. As part of the preventive activities, printed educational materials were also distributed.
The Prevention Department of the SVR Kumanovo, on the other hand, conducted a preventive activity with children from the "Sinolichka" branch of the JOUDG "Angel Shaiche," where the children were informed about basic traffic rules, tailored to their age.
Police officers from the Regional Center for Public Safety East conducted a preventive activity at the "Joakim Krčovski" Primary School in Kriva Palanka aimed at preventing addictions, primarily drugs. During this, the youth were informed about the harmful consequences of drug and alcohol use, as well as the legal repercussions that sanction this deviant behavior.
