Today (April 16, 2026) in Veles, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Veles Police Department conducted a preventive activity on the theme "Beware of Phone Scams," during which citizens from the older population were advised on how to protect themselves from phone fraud. Citizens were also provided with printed educational materials. Throughout yesterday, together with police officers from the Veles Police Station, they carried out a preventive activity on the theme "Buckle Up." Through direct communication, citizens were reminded of the obligation to use seat belts in vehicles, as well as to consistently adhere to all traffic rules and regulations. It was emphasized that the use of seat belts is a legal requirement for both drivers and passengers in vehicles, aimed at increasing personal safety. As part of the activity, drivers were given printed educational materials, created in collaboration with the National Council for Road Safety and the Faculty of Security in Skopje. Preventive activities in the field of traffic were also conducted by the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department, as well as police officers from the Štip Police Department in Sveti Nikole, Štip, Berovo, and Kočani.
During yesterday, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Tetovo Police Department held an educational lecture for third-year students at the Municipal Gymnasium in the village of Negotino, Vrapčište Municipality, on the topic "Cheering Should Be Support, Not Insult; Sports Unite," aimed at preventing violence at sporting events and hate speech.
