Today (July 15, 2026), the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department, in collaboration with the Red Cross of North Macedonia in Skopje, conducted a preventive activity aimed at drivers as part of the campaign "Safe Summer - Drive Rested." Drivers were reminded of the importance of being well-rested when operating a vehicle, as fatigue and decreased concentration are the main causes of traffic accidents during the summer. Therefore, when drivers are heading to distant destinations, it is recommended that they take frequent breaks during their travels. In the territory of Gazi Baba, the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department carried out preventive activities for fire protection, during which citizens were emphasized the need for greater caution due to the risk of wildfires during the summer months. As part of the preventive activities, printed educational materials were distributed.
Police officers from the Štip Police Department conducted preventive activities titled "Wear a Helmet," aimed at drivers of mopeds, motorcycles, and electric scooters, reminding them of the obligation and necessity to wear protective helmets, noting that every participant in traffic is equally responsible for their own safety as well as for the safety of all other road users. In Vinica, Berovo, and Probishtip, the preventive activities focused on protection against property crimes, during which citizens were given useful advice on how to protect themselves from theft.
