Today (04.08.2026), police officers from the Road Traffic Safety Police Unit within the Kavadarci Police Department carried out preventive activities in the Kavadarci area under the slogan “Drive Safely with a Roadworthy Vehicle.” The aim of the activity was to raise traffic safety awareness, with particular emphasis on the need for drivers to be aware of their obligation to regularly maintain their vehicles and ensure their roadworthiness as a key prerequisite for safe participation in traffic.
The Prevention Unit of the Skopje Police Department, the Berovo Police Department and the Road Traffic Safety Police Station in Shtip also carried out preventive activities in Skopje, Berovo and Shtip, during which drivers were reminded of the importance of mandatory compliance with traffic rules and regulations. Particular attention was paid to motorcycle, electric scooter and bicycle riders, who were reminded of the rules and obligations for careful and responsible participation in traffic, especially the obligation to wear a protective helmet. As part of the traffic safety activities, printed educational materials prepared in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security – Skopje were distributed.
Police officers from the Macedonian Brod Police Department within the Bitola Police Department carried out preventive activities aimed at preventing fires in the village of Plasnica and in Macedonian Brod. Through direct communication with citizens, police officers emphasized the need for responsible behavior in nature, particularly the importance of avoiding open fires, not throwing cigarette butts, and immediately reporting any fire by calling 112.
Farmers were also reminded of the need to exercise caution when carrying out agricultural activities, with particular emphasis on the risk of causing fires by burning field boundaries, stubble and dry grass, as well as waste in fields. They were also informed that causing a fire constitutes a criminal offense and is subject to appropriate legal sanctions.
Citizens were also provided with printed educational materials prepared in cooperation with the Public Enterprise “National Forests”, reminding them to comply with the ban on movement in forests, which is in effect until 31 August 2026.
