Preventive activities for safe traffic and the prevention of domestic violence and addictions

On March 19, 2026, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Police Directorate in Veles and the Police Station in Chaska conducted preventive activities in the villages of Izvor, Vladilovci, and Jasenovo, in the municipality of Chaska, under the theme "Don't be a silent witness," aiming to proactively address the emergence of domestic and all forms of gender-based violence. The activities emphasized the procedures and actions to take when cases of gender-based violence arise, as well as the availability of services for assistance, protection, and temporary shelter. In direct communication, citizens were provided with guidance and advice on what they can do if they find themselves in a situation where they witness a certain type of violence, directing them to the appropriate actions and procedures in such cases. Similar preventive activities were carried out by police officers from the Police Directorate in Skopje and the Police Directorate in Stip in Skopje, Kriva Palanka, Probistip, and Berovo.

Additionally, yesterday and today, preventive activities on the themes "Don't use your mobile phone" and "Buckle up" were conducted in Veles and Skopje, where drivers were informed about the dangers of using a mobile phone while driving, as well as the necessity of wearing a seatbelt, both for drivers and passengers. The goal of these activities is to raise awareness among traffic participants and enhance traffic culture, aimed at reducing the number of traffic accidents. As part of the preventive activities, printed educational materials were also distributed.

Police officers from the Regional Center for Public Safety East, in collaboration with the Red Cross – Kriva Palanka, held an educational lecture at the Primary School "Joakim Krchovski" in Kriva Palanka, focusing on the prevention of drug, alcohol, and cigarette addictions.
