Today (March 19, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Department of the SVR Veles conducted preventive activities aimed at pedestrian safety at several locations in Veles. As part of these activities, pedestrians were reminded that, like drivers, they also have an obligation to respect traffic rules and regulations, in order to enhance both their safety and that of all other participants in traffic. The goal of this preventive-educational activity was to influence the increase of traffic culture, highlight the key factors for the safety of the most vulnerable category of traffic participants—pedestrians, especially the elderly—and to strengthen trust and cooperation between the police and citizens. Citizens were also provided with printed educational materials, developed in collaboration with the National Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security in Skopje. Preventive activities for safe traffic were also carried out by police officers from the SVR Shtip in Shtip, Kochani, and Berovo.
Police officers from the OVK Prilep and PS Pehchevo implemented preventive activities to prevent domestic and cyber violence and drug addiction in Prilep and Pehchevo. In direct communication with citizens, they were informed about ways to prevent domestic violence and the availability of services for assistance and protection if they become victims of violence. They were also advised on what citizens can do if they find themselves witnessing a certain type of violence. The police officers emphasized the importance of timely reporting all forms of violence, and printed educational materials were distributed. Additionally, yesterday at the "Kuzman Josifovski" secondary municipal school in Prilep, a workshop on protection from cyber violence and drug abuse among youth was held in collaboration with the parents' council and the educational staff.
