Today (September 6, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department conducted preventive activities to prevent fires in the area of the Police Station in Petrovec (village of Sušica, village of Gorno Konjari, village of Sredno Konjari, village of Dolno Konjari, and village of Divlje). The police officers engaged in direct communication with citizens, emphasizing the need for responsible behavior in nature, particularly stressing the importance of avoiding open flames, not discarding cigarette butts, and reporting any fires immediately by calling 112. Farmers were reminded of the necessity to carry out agricultural work carefully, with a focus on the dangers of causing fires from burning field edges, dry grass, and waste in the fields. They were also informed that causing fires is a criminal offense, which is duly sanctioned by law.
Citizens were provided with printed educational materials created in collaboration with the Public Enterprise "National Forests." Meanwhile, police officers from the Prevention Section of the Tetovo Police Department conducted a preventive activity in Tetovo regarding the safe use of bicycles and electric scooters, highlighting the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations, especially the necessity of wearing helmets for greater personal safety.
