Preventive activities for safe traffic and addiction prevention

Preventive activities for safe traffic and addiction prevention

Today (September 14, 2026), police officers from the Police Station in Macedonian Brod, part of the Police Department in Bitola, conducted a preventive activity in the area of Macedonian Brod, aimed at the participation of agricultural machinery drivers—tractors—in traffic. Citizens were reminded that this category of drivers must consistently adhere to the legal provisions of the Vehicle Law, emphasizing that before entering traffic, it is essential to ensure their vehicles are in proper technical condition, particularly regarding lighting signals and steering and braking devices. Additionally, drivers of passenger motor vehicles were reminded of the importance of using seat belts, primarily for the personal safety of both drivers and passengers.

In Štip, police officers from the Police Station for Public Safety in Štip engaged in direct communication with citizens, informing them of the consequences that may arise from using a mobile phone while driving, or from not paying attention while behind the wheel. In Veles, police officers from the Police Station for Public Safety in Veles carried out a traffic preventive activity focusing on the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol, given that alcohol significantly impairs driving skills, disrupts psychomotor abilities, and poses a serious threat to their safety and that of other road users. Police officers from the Police Station in Čashka conducted a traffic preventive activity on the theme "Drive Safely with a Technically Sound Vehicle," highlighting the obligation for regular maintenance and technical soundness of vehicles as a key prerequisite for safe participation in traffic.

Police officers from the Kavadarci Police Station conducted a preventive activity on the theme "Say No to Drugs," aimed at raising awareness about the harmful consequences of addiction, as well as the methods and approaches that should be used and applied in dealing with such issues.

As part of the activities, printed educational materials were distributed.
