Today (13 September 2026), police officers from the Tetovo and Bitola Departments of the Ministry of Interior conducted preventive activities aimed at raising citizens’ awareness of responsible behaviour and compliance with safety rules.
Police officers from the Prevention Unit and the Traffic Safety Police Station within the Tetovo Department conducted a preventive activity under the slogan “Wear a Seat Belt – Drive Responsibly” on the Skopje–Tetovo–Gostivar motorway, at the Želino and Tetovo toll plazas.
Through the distribution of educational leaflets, drivers and passengers were reminded that wearing a seat belt is primarily a matter of personal safety and significantly reduces the consequences of potential road traffic accidents. They were also informed about the relevant offence provisions prescribing sanctions for failure to use a seat belt.
At the same time, police officers from the Bitola Department, in cooperation with the Forestry Police, conducted preventive activities in the territory of the Municipality of Mogila and in the villages of Budakovo, Trap and Noshpal, aimed at fire prevention and protection.
Citizens were advised about the dangers of irresponsible behaviour and causing fires, as well as the need for increased caution when staying in forested and agricultural areas.
