Today (10.08.2026), in Skopje and Shtip, police officers from the Prevention Department within the Skopje Police Department and the Shtip Police Station for Traffic Safety carried out preventive activities aimed at road traffic safety under the campaign “Do Not Use a Mobile Phone While Driving.” Drivers were informed about the potential consequences of using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle. Preventive road safety activities were also carried out by police officers from the Prevention Unit within the Kumanovo Police Department in Kumanovo, with particular emphasis on the importance of proper parking.
Preventive activities aimed at preventing fires were also carried out in Kumanovo. Through direct communication with citizens, police officers emphasized the need for responsible behaviour in nature, with particular focus on avoiding the lighting of fires, not throwing cigarette butts, and immediately reporting any fire by calling 112. Citizens were also informed that causing fires constitutes a criminal offence and is subject to appropriate legal sanctions. Educational printed materials, prepared in cooperation with the Public Enterprise “National Forests”, were also distributed, reminding citizens to respect the ban on movement in forests, which is in effect until 31 August 2026.
The Prevention Unit within the Kumanovo Police Department also conducted a preventive activity in Kumanovo under the motto “There Is Help for a Life Without Violence.” During meetings with citizens, police officers provided advice on how to protect themselves, how to recognize violence, and guidance on what they can do if they find themselves in a situation involving violence or witness a particular form of violence.
