On September 2, 2026, in Veles, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Veles Police Department conducted a preventive activity titled "Don't Leave Valuables in Your Car." The aim of this activity is to raise citizens' awareness about protection against property crimes, especially serious thefts from motor vehicles. Citizens were advised through direct meetings and conversations to leave their vehicles in safe places such as parking lots and well-lit locations, and not to leave valuable items like bags, phones, wallets, etc., in their vehicles, and to always lock them. A preventive activity for theft protection in the areas of Demir Kapija and Krushevo was also carried out today by police officers from the Negotino Police Station and the Krushevo Police Station.
Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Skopje Police Department and the Traffic Police Station at the Kavadarci Police Station conducted preventive activities for safe traffic in Skopje and Kavadarci, emphasizing the need for citizens to use seat belts in vehicles, which is an obligation for both drivers and passengers, aimed at increasing personal safety. Additionally, motorcycle and electric scooter riders were reminded of their obligation to wear protective helmets, primarily for their own safety. In Shtip, the Prevention Department of the Shtip Police Department focused on proper parking. In the central area of Tetovo, police officers from the Prevention Department of the Tetovo Police Department conducted a preventive activity for pedestrian safety, reminding pedestrians of their responsibilities while participating in traffic, such as crossing the street at designated crosswalks, not using mobile phones and headphones while crossing, and adhering to other rules necessary for their safe participation in traffic as pedestrians.
Likewise, drivers were reminded that they must fully adhere to the rules, specifically giving priority to pedestrians when crossing roadways. Citizens were emphasized the need to respect all traffic rules and regulations, aimed at increasing safety on the streets and highways.
In the area of Probishtip, police officers from the Probishtip Police Station conducted a preventive activity to prevent fires, with a special focus on avoiding open flames, urging citizens not to discard cigarette butts, and to report any fire immediately by calling 112. Farmers were also reminded of the necessity for careful execution of agricultural tasks, highlighting the dangers of causing fires from burning field edges, stubble with dry grass, and waste in the fields. Furthermore, they were informed that causing fires is a criminal offense, which is duly sanctioned by law. Citizens were also provided with printed educational materials, created in collaboration with the Public Enterprise "National Forests."
