Today (December 24, 2025), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Police Department of Veles, along with a doctor from the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, conducted preventive-educational lectures as part of the campaign "No Pyrotechnics for Safer Holidays" for first-year students from the high schools "Jovche Teslichkov," "Kole Nedelkovski," "Kocho Racin," and "Dimitrija Chupovski" in Veles. Additionally, police officers from the Police Department of Kavadarci held educational lectures for eighth and ninth-grade students from the elementary schools "Tosho Velkov Pepeto" and "Dimkata Angelov Gaberot" in Kavadarci. The lectures emphasized that the use of pyrotechnics poses a dangerous risk to health, especially for children and minors, as they contain explosives and can cause severe and lasting injuries and health consequences. Meanwhile, police officers from the Police Department of Negotino conducted an educational workshop on the topic "Child, Participant in Traffic" at the branch elementary school in the village of Dolni Disan, Negotino, where students were informed about the importance of respecting traffic rules and regulations, aiming to raise the level of traffic culture and safety for children, the youngest participants in traffic.
Educational lectures on the risks of using pyrotechnic materials were held today in the area of the Police Department in Štip, specifically at the primary school "Dimitar Vlahov" in Štip, at the secondary school "Gošo Vikentiev" in Kočani, and at the secondary school "Naum Naumovski Borče" in Probištip. In Sveti Nikole, police officers from the Police Station in Sveti Nikole conducted a traffic activity on several roadways under the motto "Don't drink when you drive." As part of the activity, drivers were given leaflets with educational content, emphasizing that alcohol is one of the main causes of traffic accidents during this period and that abstaining from alcohol while operating a motor vehicle is a key factor for safely reaching the desired destination.
On December 24, 2025, in the area of the Police Station Center, the Prevention Department of the Police Department in Skopje carried out a preventive activity under the motto "Pyrotechnics - fun for a moment, deadly for a lifetime." Educational materials were distributed to passersby, highlighting that firecrackers cause stress and intense feelings of anxiety, both in people and animals, and it is a fact that a significant number of people worldwide become disabled each year due to the use of firecrackers, with a large portion being children.
Concurrently with these activities, at the Secondary School for General Education "Josip Broz - Tito," doctors from the University Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery held workshops under the motto "Create memories without injuries – say NO to pyrotechnic materials!" Additionally, in collaboration with the Red Cross, on Boulevard "Ilinden," actions were taken as part of the New Year's campaign "If you drink, don't drive; if you drive, don't drink," where leaflets with educational content were distributed to participants in traffic.
