Today (March 30, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Regional Police Department of Veles, the Police Station of Macedonian Brod, and the Regional Police Department of Stip conducted preventive activities in Veles, the village of Gorno Orizari, Probistip, Macedonian Brod, Berovo, and Pehcevo under the theme "Don't be a silent witness," aiming to take preventive action against the occurrence of any form of gender-based violence. The activity emphasized the procedures and protocols to follow when cases of gender-based violence arise, as well as the availability of services for assistance, protection, and temporary shelter. In direct communication, citizens were given guidance and advice on what they can do if they find themselves in a situation where they witness a certain type of violence.
Additionally, on March 30, 2026, police officers from the Police Station for Public Safety in Veles conducted a preventive activity under the theme "We are all pedestrians," directed at pedestrians, emphasizing that they, as active participants in traffic, have an obligation to respect traffic rules and regulations. As part of the activity, pedestrians were reminded that they should only cross the street at designated crosswalks, avoiding the use of headphones and mobile phones, in order to raise the level of traffic culture. Educational printed materials were also distributed as part of the preventive activities. Preventive activities in the field of traffic were also carried out in Kochani and Sveti Nikole.
