On 27 February 2026, police officers from the Prevention Unit and the Traffic Police Station within the Sektor za vnatreshni raboti Veles carried out traffic prevention activities at several locations in Veles aimed at raising the level of traffic culture. Special emphasis was placed on increasing drivers’ awareness not to operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol, given that alcohol significantly reduces driving skills, impairs psychomotor abilities, and poses a serious threat to both their own safety and that of other road users.
A traffic prevention activity on the same topic was also implemented by police officers from the Chashka Police Outpost. Meanwhile, in the areas of the Negotino and Kavadarci Police Departments, preventive activities were conducted under the themes “Wear a Seatbelt” and “Do Not Use a Mobile Phone While Driving,” with drivers being reminded of the necessity to comply with traffic laws and regulations.
Today, the Prevention Department within the Sektor za vnatreshni raboti Skopje carried out preventive activities under the campaigns “Wear a Seatbelt” and “Use Winter Equipment” at the Glumovo toll station, in the Saraj Police Outpost area. Citizens were informed that wearing a seatbelt can significantly reduce the consequences of a potential traffic accident, and the importance of ensuring that vehicles are fully prepared for winter driving conditions was also emphasized.
As part of the activities, printed educational materials were distributed, prepared in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security Skopje.
Police officers from the Eastern Regional Center for Border Affairs and the Delchevo Police Department also conducted preventive activities today in Delchevo and the surrounding area focused on protection against property-related crimes. Citizens were provided with advice on how to protect themselves from property offenses and were urged to immediately report any such incidents to the police.
In Sveti Nikole, police officers from the Sveti Nikole Police Station and the Prevention Unit within the Sektor za vnatreshni raboti Shtip carried out a preventive activity aimed at familiarizing citizens with the work of the police.
