Today (February 23, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit and the Traffic Safety Police Station at the Police Department of Veles conducted preventive activities at several locations in Veles, aimed at raising the level of traffic culture, with a particular emphasis on the need for drivers to be aware of not operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. Indeed, alcohol significantly impairs driving skills, disrupts psychomotor abilities, and poses a serious threat to their safety and that of other road users. Additionally, police officers from the Police Department of Negotino and the Police Department of Kavadarci carried out preventive-educational activities for protection against theft, during which they advised citizens on how to protect themselves from various forms of property crimes. As part of the preventive activities, printed educational materials were also distributed.
A preventive activity titled "Buckle Up" was conducted by police officers from the Traffic Safety Police Station in Stip. Citizens were reminded of the obligation to use seat belts in vehicles, as this can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in the event of a traffic accident. In Probistip, police officers from the Police Department of Probistip carried out preventive activities under the mottos "Park Responsibly, Park Consciously" and "We Are All Pedestrians." Improper parking endangers the safety of other road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists, and citizens were informed about the necessity of adhering to traffic rules and regulations to enhance safety on the roads.
