Today (January 23, 2026), police officers from the Prevention Department at RCIA Veles and the Traffic Safety Police Station conducted preventive activities in several locations in Veles, focusing on road safety with the theme "Do not use your mobile phone while driving." The police officers directly communicated with drivers about the dangers of using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle, aiming to raise awareness among traffic participants and reduce the number of traffic accidents. Additionally, printed educational materials were distributed, created in collaboration with the National Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security - Skopje. Citizens were also warned to be cautious and not to fall for fraudulent electronic messages claiming to be from the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding alleged traffic violations, and to avoid sharing personal information to protect themselves from digital scams.
Police officers from RCIA Štip, on the other hand, carried out preventive-educational activities aimed at protecting against property crimes, primarily thefts and fraud. In direct communication with citizens in Viniča, Probištip, and Sveti Nikole, especially with the elderly population, police officers provided useful advice on how to protect themselves and their homes from thefts, break-ins, and scams, emphasizing the need to report any suspicious cases to the police. In Delčevo and Berovo, preventive activities for safe traffic were also conducted. Police officers directly communicated with drivers about the necessity of adhering to traffic rules and regulations, with a particular emphasis on the winter period, when road conditions require maximum caution, making it especially important to comply with regulations regarding the seasonal use of winter equipment. Furthermore, drivers were reminded of the need for regular technical inspections of their vehicles to ensure safe participation in traffic.
