Preventive Activities Implemented by SIA Skopje, SIA Strumica and SIA Štip for Road Safety and Protection Against Fraud

During the previous day (January 23), police officers from SIA Skopje, SIA Strumica and SIA Štip carried out several preventive activities aimed at improving road traffic safety and protecting citizens from fraud.

Police officers from the Prevention Department at SIA Skopje, in cooperation with the Republican Council for Road Traffic Safety (RCRTS), conducted a traffic-preventive activity in the municipality of Gazi Baba, specifically on “Aleksandar Makedonski” Boulevard, under the theme “Use Winter Equipment.” As part of the activity, drivers were given educational leaflets containing messages on responsible vehicle operation in winter conditions, as well as reminders to respect traffic rules, obligatorily adjust speed to road conditions, and apply other safety measures.

On the same day, in the village of Bosilovo, Strumica region, police officers from the Prevention Unit at SIA Strumica, in cooperation with representatives of the Municipal Council for Road Traffic Safety – Strumica, carried out a preventive activity within the campaign “Drive Safely in Winter.” Drivers were reminded of the legal obligation to possess mandatory winter equipment in their vehicles, and educational materials provided by the RCRTS were distributed.

As part of fraud prevention activities, police officers from the Prevention Unit at SIA Štip held a working meeting with pensioners’ associations in Kočani and Vinica. During the meeting, pensioners were informed about the most common types of fraud, in which perpetrators falsely present themselves as doctors or other officials and extort money from family members for alleged traffic accidents. The participants were advised on how to act in the event of a fraud attempt and to report it immediately to the nearest police station.
