Today (02.02.2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit and the Traffic Safety Police Station within SIA Veles carried out preventive activities at several locations in Veles, aimed at raising the level of traffic culture. Special emphasis was placed on the need to raise drivers’ awareness not to operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol, given that alcohol significantly reduces psychomotor abilities and poses a serious threat to their own safety and the safety of other road users. Additionally, the obligation for regular vehicle maintenance and technical roadworthiness was highlighted as a key prerequisite for safe participation in traffic. Drivers were also provided with printed educational materials, prepared in cooperation with the National Road Traffic Safety Council and the Faculty of Security – Skopje.
Police officers from the Traffic Safety Police Station Kočani carried out a preventive activity in Kočani under the motto “Use Winter Equipment.” Through direct communication with citizens and distribution of educational leaflets, they emphasized the importance of respecting traffic rules and regulations in order to increase road safety, especially regarding the use of winter equipment—an obligation in force from November 15, 2025, to March 15, 2026.
