Today (28 July 2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Tetovo Police Department carried out a preventive campaign at several locations in the central area of Tetovo under the slogan "Think About Others When You Park Your Vehicle." Drivers were reminded that improper parking is a contributing factor to many traffic accidents involving children, pedestrians, and cyclists. Educational leaflets were distributed to raise awareness.
On 27 July 2026, at the location known as Suvi Laki on the Berovo–Strumica road, police officers from the Pehčevo Border Surveillance Police Station, within the East Border Affairs Regional Center, conducted a road safety campaign entitled "Drive Well Rested." Through direct conversations, drivers were advised to begin long journeys only after adequate rest, to take breaks every two to three hours during travel, and to strictly observe traffic rules and regulations.
Additional road safety activities were conducted today in Kočani and Štip. In Kočani, the campaign was held under the slogans "If You Drink, Don't Drive" and "If You Drive, Don't Drink." Drivers were reminded that anyone operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol above the legal limit would be subject to sanctions.
In Štip, preventive activities were organized under the slogans "Park Responsibly, Park Carefully" and "Be Responsible at Pedestrian Crossings." Drivers received informational leaflets containing practical advice on complying with traffic laws and regulations.
Also today, a "Neighbourhood–Community Patrol" activity was carried out in Berovo in cooperation with representatives of the Štip Municipal Council and the Štip Centre for Social Work. The joint team visited locations frequently used by minors, including parks and playgrounds. Young people were encouraged to behave responsibly, respect public order and peace, and special attention was given to preventing peer violence, vandalism, and the harmful consequences of alcohol and psychoactive substance abuse.
Today, preventive activities were also conducted within the jurisdiction of the Veles Police Department. In Veles, a campaign entitled "Ride Safely on Bicycles and Electric Scooters" reminded road users of the importance of careful and responsible participation in traffic and increasing their personal safety while riding bicycles and electric scooters.
In Negotino, a preventive campaign focusing on protection against property crime was organized. Citizens were advised on the importance of remaining vigilant and informed about ways to protect themselves from various forms of theft in order to enhance their personal and property security. The campaign particularly targeted older citizens, who are more frequently victims of property-related crimes. Educational leaflets were distributed during the activity.
Within the jurisdiction of the Skopje Police Department, specifically in the area covered by the local Police Unit, preventive activities were conducted on the topic "Do Not Leave Valuable Items in Your Vehicle," alongside several road safety campaigns. The main objectives were to protect citizens from vehicle theft, improve public safety awareness, strengthen trust and cooperation between the police and the community, and encourage compliance with traffic regulations, with particular emphasis on the use of protective helmets when riding motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, and electric scooters.
