On 29 July 2026, on the local road between Skopje and Veles, near the Idrizovo Correctional Facility and the intersection connecting the settlements of Jurumleri and Dolno Lisiche, police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Skopje Police Department carried out preventive campaigns on road safety and fire prevention.
As part of the road safety campaign, special emphasis was placed on the message "Ride Safe – Wear a Helmet", focusing on the safety of motorcyclists. The fire prevention campaign highlighted the importance of a rapid response and the timely reporting of any fire spotted in open areas. Drivers and pedestrians were provided with educational materials prepared by the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety, while fire prevention posters were also displayed.
Today, the Prevention Unit of the Kumanovo Police Department, in cooperation with the Municipal Prevention Council of the Municipality of Kumanovo, also conducted a preventive activity dedicated to electric scooters and the latest amendments to the Road Traffic Safety Law, according to which only persons aged 18 and over will be allowed to operate an electric scooter. During the activity, citizens were informed about the other amendments to the law and were provided with educational leaflets.
Preventive road safety activities were also carried out today in Veles. Police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Veles Police Department discussed the topic "Park Responsibly – Park Considerately" with citizens, emphasizing the importance of parking only in designated parking areas, respecting parking spaces reserved for persons with disabilities, and complying with road signs and pavement markings. Educational printed materials prepared in cooperation with the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety and the Faculty of Security – Skopje were distributed during the activity.
Yesterday (28 July 2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Ohrid Police Department met with residents of the villages of Gorno and Dolno Lakocherej to raise public awareness about the importance of protecting forests from fires and preventing fires in open areas. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to immediately notify the competent authorities upon noticing a fire in an open area.
Also on 28 July 2026, police officers from the East Regional Border Affairs Center, together with the Delchevo Municipal Road Traffic Safety Council, carried out the preventive campaign "Travel Safely." Through conversations and the distribution of informational leaflets, drivers were reminded to be well-rested before embarking on longer journeys, to take a break of at least 15 minutes every two to three hours while traveling, to wear their seat belts, and to check the technical condition of their vehicles in order to enhance the safety of all road users.
Today, preventive activities under the slogan "Don't Use a Mobile Phone While Driving" were conducted in Shtip and Berovo. Drivers were informed about the legal obligation not to use a mobile phone while operating a vehicle. Meanwhile, in Probishtip, the preventive activity focused on "Fire Prevention and Protection." Through direct communication with citizens, police officers explained the dangers of lighting fires in open areas, forest fires, and fires in buildings. Educational leaflets were also distributed.
