Today (23 August 2026), police officers from the Prevention Unit of the Tetovo Police Department, together with police officers from the Tearce Police Unit and representatives of the Public Enterprise “National Forests,” carried out a preventive activity at several locations in the area covered by the Tearce Police Unit under the slogan “Flames Are Unstoppable.”
During the activity, citizens were urged to exercise increased caution to protect forests from fires. Drivers were also advised to be careful when travelling on roads passing through or alongside forests and not to throw cigarette butts or glass objects, as these can pollute and damage the natural environment and potentially cause fires.
The public was also informed about the legal consequences of irresponsible behaviour that could endanger nature, create a general hazard or cause a fire. Informational and educational leaflets were distributed during the activity.
The Delchevo Police Station also carried out a preventive activity today. The activity was conducted in cooperation with the East Regional Center for Border Affairs and the Forestry Police at several locations — the villages of Bigla, Dramche and Iliovo, as well as Mount Golak — focusing on the prevention of and protection against forest fires, illegal logging and the illegal transportation of timber.
