Today (20.12.2025), at “Goce Delčev” Square in Strumica, within the framework of the campaign implemented by the Ministry of Interior “Safe Holidays, Without the Use of Pyrotechnics,” police officers from the Prevention Unit of SIA Strumica and the Strumica Police Station, in cooperation with the Red Cross – Municipal Organization Strumica, conducted a simulation exercise providing assistance to a person injured by the use of pyrotechnic devices. Activities within the campaign continued at other locations in Strumica, where police officers distributed leaflets to citizens with educational content related to the harmful consequences of using pyrotechnic devices.
Through its Prevention Unit, SIA Strumica also, during the previous day, in cooperation with doctors from the University Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, carried out several educational lectures for first-year students from the secondary schools “Nikola Karev,” “Jane Sandanski,” and “Dimitar Vlahov” in Strumica. During these lectures, doctors explained to students the harmful consequences that the use of pyrotechnic devices can have on their health and bodies, while police officers informed them about the legal provisions that foresee sanctions for the procurement, sale, and use of pyrotechnic devices. Such activities will continue in the coming period.
Meanwhile, police officers from SIA Štip today carried out activities at several locations in the central urban area of Štip aimed at increasing road traffic safety, primarily focused on raising awareness among drivers not to operate vehicles under the influence of alcohol. Citizens were also informed about the harmful consequences of using pyrotechnic devices.
