Today (28 January 2026), police officers from SIA Skopje, SIA Tetovo and SIA Shtip carried out preventive traffic-safety activities at several locations in Skopje, Tetovo, Berovo, Delchevo and Kochani. Through direct communication with citizens and distribution of educational leaflets, the importance of respecting traffic rules and regulations was emphasized, with special focus on the mandatory use of winter equipment in the period from 15 November 2025 to 15 March 2026.
Drivers were warned about the harmful consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol, using mobile phones while driving, as well as the legal obligation to wear seat belts, which significantly reduce the consequences of traffic accidents. The need for pedestrians to comply with traffic rules was also highlighted, along with information about the sanctions for violating the law.
In addition, police officers from the Delchevo Police Station conducted preventive and educational activities aimed at protecting citizens from property crimes. Through direct communication, especially with elderly citizens, useful advice was provided on how to protect themselves and their homes from thefts, burglaries and fraud, and citizens were encouraged to report any suspicious cases to the police.
