Today (23 July 2026), the Prevention Unit of the Skopje Police Department (SVR Skopje) carried out preventive activities aimed at protecting citizens from thefts involving vehicles and promoting road safety.
In the Municipality of Centar, on Lazar Lichenoski Street and in the parking area near Skopje Fortress (Kale), officers conducted the campaign "Do Not Leave Valuables in Your Vehicle." Drivers were advised not to leave valuable belongings inside parked vehicles, and educational leaflets containing crime prevention tips were distributed.
At the same time, road safety activities were conducted on Serbia Boulevard, within the jurisdiction of the Aerodrom Police Station, under the themes "Wear a Helmet" and "Do Not Use Your Mobile Phone While Driving." The primary objective of the campaign was to improve traffic culture by encouraging drivers and motorcyclists to comply with traffic laws and regulations.
Preventive activities were also carried out today in several municipalities within the jurisdiction of the Shtip Police Department (SVR Shtip). In Berovo, Kochani, Shtip, and Probishtip, police officers organized road safety campaigns under the themes "Ride Safely on E-Scooters and Mopeds," "Park Responsibly," and "Wear Your Seat Belt." During these activities, drivers received educational materials containing practical advice and information explaining the legal requirements for complying with traffic rules and regulations.
In addition, yesterday (22 July 2026), police officers from the Probishtip Police Station conducted the preventive campaign "Do You Know Where Your Child Is After Midnight?" in the town center and at the municipal market in Probishtip.
The main objective of the campaign was to enhance overall public safety by promoting compliance with the law, strengthening trust and cooperation between the police and the community, and raising awareness among both parents and minors about the importance of increased parental supervision, particularly during nighttime hours. Parents and young people were advised to avoid alcohol and narcotic substances, as well as behavior that could lead to misdemeanors or violent criminal offences in which minors may become involved as perpetrators.
Parents were also informed that neglecting their parental responsibilities may constitute a misdemeanor or even a criminal offence under the law.
Educational leaflets on the campaign topic were distributed throughout the preventive activities.
