Ahead of the Strumica Carnival event, today (21.02.), in the area of Strumica, police officers from the Prevention Unit at SVR Strumica and from the Strumica Police Station carried out preventive activities aimed at increasing the safety of citizens and visitors.
The activities were conducted at several locations throughout the city, where citizens were provided with flyers containing educational materials and were given practical advice on protection against criminal offenses such as theft, aggravated theft, and fraud, especially in conditions of increased public gatherings during carnival events. Special emphasis was placed on raising awareness about personal and property safety, as well as the importance of timely communication and cooperation with the Ministry of Interior.
At the same time, a preventive activity intended for drivers was carried out within the campaign “Don’t Drink and Drive,” during which educational materials provided by the Republic Council for Road Traffic Safety were distributed. The aim of the activity is to raise awareness among drivers not to operate motor vehicles if they have consumed alcohol during carnival celebrations and to reduce the risk of traffic accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol.
