On 05.03.2026, police officers from the Police Stations in Resen and Makedonski Brod carried out preventive activities on the topic “There is Help for a Life Without Violence.” Through direct communication, citizens were informed about the occurrence of domestic violence, the rights and protection measures available in cases of domestic violence, as well as ways to recognize psychological violence and guidance on what they can do if they find themselves witnessing a form of violence.
Today (06.03.2026), on the same topic “There is Help for a Life Without Violence,” the Tetovo Police Department carried out a preventive activity at Popova Shapka. The aim of the project is preventive action regarding events related to gender-based violence and domestic violence, as well as encouraging victims to report such cases to the police.
The same preventive activity was also carried out today in the central city areas of Delchevo and Sveti Nikole. On this occasion, police officers distributed leaflets with the message “Do not be a silent witness – report violence against women immediately!” Through direct communication, citizens were also informed that domestic and other forms of violence against women and girls constitute a criminal offense for which the perpetrator is held accountable before the competent institutions, while the victim is provided with appropriate protection.
The Tetovo Police Department also started today with the practical implementation of the preventive-educational project “Children, Rights and Responsibilities,” led by the Prevention Unit. About 2,200 eighth-grade students from more than 70 primary schools in the Tetovo-Gostivar region will be included in this project. During special classes held in schools, trained police officers familiarize students with children’s rights and responsibilities in the family, school and society, derived from domestic and international agreements and conventions. Students are also informed about juvenile delinquency and other deviant phenomena, antisocial behavior, as well as the possible legal implications if they become involved in such activities. The aim of the project is for eighth-grade students to know their rights, but also the legal consequences if they initiate or directly participate in illegal activities.
Meanwhile, the Veles Police Department, on the occasion of the upcoming holiday – International Women’s Day (March 8) – carried out a preventive activity today within the project “The Ministry of Interior and the Citizens.” Through direct communication with citizens, police officers congratulated women on the holiday, expressing respect for their courage and dedication within their families, workplaces and society.
